The Obedient Life
What if there was a characteristic that marked people for the blessing of God? Would you be interested in learning more?
And what if that characteristic was not one like being tall or short, or having a certain complexion, but rather something that you could cultivate and develop? Would you work on that?
I think most of us would say yes. If there is something within our power that would attract the blessings of God, we would be foolish to do anything other than run hard after that thing.
That thing - that characteristic - exists. And it’s within your grasp.
Obedience to God’s voice is that one thing that Deuteronomy tells us will cause God’s blessing to overtake us. We display this kind of obedience when we listen intelligently and answer appropriately.
This coming Sunday, we are going to launch off of last week’s message from Deuteronomy 28, allowing the Bible to interpret itself as we discover what else it says about the attractive properties of obedience. We’ll also talk about some specific areas of obedience in our lives that will pay dividends.
